The quick tempo, flourishes and unequal note groupings suggest the rolling and tumbling of the weeds over the ground. The piece builds up and down in cycles to imitate the patterns of the wind, typical in the summer afternoons. The final very soft notes suggest the easing of the wind before the next cycle starts.
