The five poems by Yuan Hung-Tao (1568-1610), selected for this cycle from ‘Pilgrim of the Clouds’, describe a progression though the poet’s external and internal life.  A minor public servant for the government, Yuan Hung-Tao loses his job, sells up, buys a boat and spends the rest of his days travelling around China
