Song of the Shepherd

This delightful work was not previously published, and the manuscript contained no composition date. It holds the subtitle – Palestinian Air (Shir he-Roeh) and was dedicated to flute player Richard Chugg. The program of the work is “The Shepherd is minding his flock on the hills of Palestine. He tells of his sheep and his little goats, black and white; of the coming of the evening and a simple meal by the stream. He pipes a tune and dances with joy.” (Australian Jewish News, June 25^th, 1937).
