Antonietta Loffredo
Antonietta Loffredo, pianist, is a graduate of the Conservatorio “F.E. Dall’Abaco” in Italy and of the Conservatoire de Musique d’Issy les Moulineaux in France. She has also conducted studies in a teaching, educational and musicological context at the Università degli Studi in Pavia and in Milano. Particularly interested in contemporary classical music, Antonietta has performed in Europe, Middle East and Australia. Since 2004 she has been holding lectures and seminars around the world on the subject of contemporary art music. Her writings on contemporary music piano pedagogy have been published in the UK, Australia and Italy. Antonietta’s research in the area of vanguard music includes concert programs dedicated to the toy piano. Her toy piano repertoire ranges from the 1900 vanguard to contemporary classical music and live electonics, showing the increasing interest in this marvellous instrument. CDs of newly composed piano music include Childhood in Music and Shadows and Silhouettes – new music with a Chinese-Western confluence.
