Robert Woodward
Robert Woodward is a multi-talented multi-instrumentalist full of passion and drive. He is a classical recitalist and as a saxophonist Rob performs with his own band, 'The Big Band Theory'. He is also a flautist and clarinetist performing jazz, pop, classical and contemporary (new) music. At 17, Rob became principal saxophone in the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain before spending four years studying both classical and jazz saxophone at the Royal Northern College of Music with Rob Buckland and Andy Scott. During this time he performed in masterclasses for classical artists such as John Harle, Claude DeLangle and in concert with jazz greats including Andy Sheppard, Julian Arguelles and Jiggs Whigham. Rob received the Terence Greaves prize for jazz composition.
Rob moved to Sydney in 2008. His versatile career includes working as musical director for the Ash Puriri's Barry White experience. Rob has arranged works for the Sydney International Orchestra, the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and for various entertainers worldwide. Aside from this, he has academic lecturing commitments and is pursuing his PhD studies at the University of Western Sydney.
