The Bourbaki Ensemble

The Bourbaki Ensemble was founded in 2001, and since then has been conducted by David Angell.  The Bourbaki Ensemble is a chamber string orchestra based in Newtown, an inner suburb of Sydney.  Their main aim is to perform works from the string orchestra repertoire, which, though it includes many masterpieces, is often overlooked in favour of music for full orchestra.  The Ensemble is also committed to programming works by Australian composers.  It is possibly the only orchestra in the world to be name after a polycephalic French mathematician!

The Bourbaki Ensemble have recorded for Wirripang:

Into His Countenance

Mermaids

Mozart in Love
