Outdoor Suite for Trumpet and Trombone
By Rod Heard

The 4 pieces comprising the Outdoor Suite are written with the young brass players in mind featuring comfortable keys, phrasing and range that will suit a player of intermediate grade.
The time durations and rhythmic figures are within the skill set of a young player but with some challenges, particularly the syncopations in some of the pieces.

The orchestration is intended to be flexible with many key parts doubled on other instruments to accommodate ensembles of various sizes and combinations. U235
By Rod Heard
Regular price
$45.00
U235 explores some of the implications of what appeared to be the very real threat of a nuclear conflagration during the 'Cold War' of the late 1970s and 80s with the tensions growing at alarming intensity between the US and the Soviet Union. The title refers to the isotope of uranium that, in enriched form, is used in nuclear weapon design because of its fissile nature; that is, it is capable of a chain reaction. As it happens, the numbers 2, 3 and 5 are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th integers in the Fibonacci series of numbers that forms an exponential curve analogous to that of a nuclear explosion.
Price for hard copy purchase includes two separate scores.
