Bb Clarinet and piano, c.3'15. Grade6/7
Most of the well known solo repertoire for clarinet dates from the 18th century or later and examples of Baroque writing for the instrument are few. This piece is written in conscious imitation of the Baroque style paying particular homage to the work and creative spirit of J S Bach. It follows a formal schema of exposition, development and recapitulation, and its tessiture exploits the full range of the clarinet.
Composed 2010
