The suite consists of eight short movements based on a poem by Diana Weston, who wrote about a day in the life of a flying doctor working at the Flying Doctor Service in Broken Hill, outback New South Wales. The centrepiece is the calming 'Wings from the Sky', a musical reflection of the welcome sight of the Flying Doctor plane when it appears out of the vast sky, its crew arriving to administer comfort and life-saving help. Composed 2013.

Music by Ann Carr-Boyd performed by Diana Weston (harpsichord) and the ensemble Thoroughbass. An eclectic collection of works in this double CD - folksongs and instrumental - for voice, violin/viola, cello, guitar, recorder, percussion, harpsichord and organ. Mostly written around the '70s and '80s for The Consort of Sydney, and enthusiastically revived and recorded here by Diana Weston and her ensemble.
Inspired by the Australian outback and by the words to Flying West, written by Diana Weston, this short collection [tracks 10-17] for recorder, cello and harpsichord describes the day in the life of doctors working from the base of the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Broken Hill, and has been dedicated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

In the making of this album, our purpose was to bring to light a long-forgotten and yet highly significant instrument that was the ‘square’ piano - specifically the English square piano. We wanted to demonstrate a little of its nature, to outline its relevance in social history, to let you hear its voice. To do this, we are fortunate to have available a relevant instrument – a Robertson c. 1835 partially restored square piano crafted in Liverpool. In the recording, music from its era (late eighteenth to early nineteenth century), is interspersed with newly created pieces that are sympathetic to its variable sounds and registers, that is, its limitations and virtues.
