Two pianos and pre-recorded stereo electronics, c.10'00
Hard copy purchase includes a set of two scores in A3 size.
The source material of the electronic part is derived from a recording of a performance of "Night "and "Breathless Lover". It was manipulated using the Pro Tools software. The piano parts are based on musical material and techniques used in both of those pieces as well, with a particular concentration on imitative techniques that were hinted at in both works, but not as fully explored as they are in this one. Both works published by Wirripang.

Piano Concerto No 1 in E flat minor (rehearsal score for two pianos)
By Miriam Hyde
Regular price
$100.00
Piano Concerto No 1 in E flat minor rehearsal score for two pianos.
Composed 1932-1933
The concerto is cast in a three movement, fast-slow-fast form, with the lyrical second giving way to dance-like third. In the late Romantic tradition, the melody and its developments are the prime source of interest and the driving forces in the progress of the work. Much of the dazzling technical work in the piano parts is over a held, or prolonged chord – a typical 19th century technique.

It was completed in 1935, and she performed it later that year with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Constant Lambert.

Triptych
By Peter Dart
Regular price
$60.00
Triptych is a set of three sound pictures inspired by texts from Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey.
Although the work is programmatic, the program is impressionistic rather than narrative—a triptych rather than a trilogy, where each panel represents the visual, auditory and emotional content of its text. Composed 2011 -14.

U235
By Rod Heard
Regular price
$45.00
U235 explores some of the implications of what appeared to be the very real threat of a nuclear conflagration during the 'Cold War' of the late 1970s and 80s with the tensions growing at alarming intensity between the US and the Soviet Union. The title refers to the isotope of uranium that, in enriched form, is used in nuclear weapon design because of its fissile nature; that is, it is capable of a chain reaction. As it happens, the numbers 2, 3 and 5 are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th integers in the Fibonacci series of numbers that forms an exponential curve analogous to that of a nuclear explosion.
Price for hard copy purchase includes two separate scores.
