Tomasz Holownia
Tomasz Holownia is a Composer and Choral Singer, who was born in Melbourne, Australia, and currently lives in Brisbane. Tomasz completed his studies in Classical Voice (Hons) at the Queensland Conservatorium in 2017 and completed a postgraduate certificate in Opera in 2018.
Tomasz has worked as a Choral singer in both Australia and the United Kingdom. In September 2021, he was to begin a lay clerkship with the Choir of St John’s College, Cambridge, but was unable to fulfill this role due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Instead, he now works as a Software Engineer and composes in his spare time.
Many of Tomasz’s major sacred works have been performed by ensembles, parishes and cathedrals in Brisbane including his Mass in G Minor for 8 Voices at St Stephen’s Cathedral, his Tewkesbury Service in F at St John’s Cathedral and his Mass in the Phrygian Mode by the Lucis Ensemble. Many of his motets have also been performed in Brisbane including his Ave Regina Caelorum (2019), Alma Redemptoris Mater (2019), O Vos Omnes (2018) and Crucifixus (2017).
