Jenny Lee-Robins
Jenny was born in 1947 at Auburn, Sydney. She studied piano and singing since she was seven years of age, entering eisteddfods and the Sydney Conservatorium High School of Music at the age of twelve. She studied piano with Elizabeth Coleman and Nancy Salas and finally entered the Diploma Course for four years, studying Orchestration, Harmony, History of Music, Chamber Music, Psychology and Principles of Teaching, Acoustics, Accompaniment, Piano and Singing at the the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
She was active in various choirs, singing groups, musicals, singing, dancing, theatre restaurant, on the stage as well as choral and musical direction and accompaniment.
She was a High School Music teacher for seven years as well as a piano teacher for 49 years, entering children in exams for most of those years, which she still continues.
Promoting female composers, through highlighting their compositions in concert, and organising talks and concerts and performing in these areas, has been her more recent endeavour.
Over the last fifteen years or so she has been passionate about composing piano works suitable for exam purposes and her own students, some songs and small instrumental works.
