Music by Ann Carr-Boyd
The Staircase (or Stairway) to the Moon is a natural phenomenon caused by the rising of a full moon reflected on the exposed mudflats in Roebuck Bay in Western Australia at extremely low tide, to create a beautiful optical illusion of a stairway reaching to the moon. This spectacular sight occurs from March through to November. Roebuck Bay is near Broome.
Ann's works performed by: The Steel City Strings conducted by Shilong Ye with harpist Verna Lee and concertmaster Kyle Little.
Other works include outstanding performances by clarinetist Amy Whyte and pianist John Martin.
