Viking Dance (quartet for guitar and strings)

Quartet with Bodhram, Guitars and Strings, and includes the solo guitar part for assisting in rehearsals as it has the main parts condensed into the one score. c.4'00. Advance grade
The piece uses two modes to capture the “old world”[Viking] feel and alternates between D Mixolydian and A Dorian. The imagery that comes to mind is that of a league of Vikings emerging in the distance, rising from below a hill complete with drums being hit for war, horses, swords in hand, handheld flags on masts as the fearsome warriors emerge and a scene of dancing around a massive bonfire celebrating their victory and ultimate rise to Valhalla. It is a warrior dance, without fear and to be played tenaciously!
All versions of Viking Dance can be played separately or as an ensemble.
