Bromeliad -The Epic (solo horn)

The epic describes a quest where the Horn is the hero of the story, hearing the call and responding to the challenge, as a hero must, although not without moments of trepidation.  After overcoming moments of self-doubt, our hero sets forth resolutely to seek the foe, to the music of a march.  Battle is joined in 12/8 and our hero emerges triumphant, but not without injury.  After withdrawing from the fray to heal, the eventual homecoming results in a hero’s welcome.  Awarded the highest honours by a grateful nation, a rapturous reunion occurs and they celebrate the victory together.
