Grooves can be literally carved out in rock or wood, being formed by the natural forces of the weather and elements - usually over very long periods of time. Otherwise, grooves can be made quite quickly with machinery and tools for chosen human purposes. Alternatively, there’s the type of grooves you hear in music. These relatively short moves are held in place - usually in the bass – and lend themselves to endless variation through repetition. Eventually, the grooves play around by themselves - etched into your mind’s ear.
