Date with Ginger, A

The "date with ginger" is a favourite snack - simply a fresh Medjoul date, pitted, and stuffed with a piece of preserved ginger. The concept of the sweet exterior hiding a zesty heart reminds me of the many Australian belly dancers I have met, and one friend in particular. "Butter wouldn't melt...!"
