The piece aims to capture the grandeur, awe, and triumph of the resurrection story, using chromaticism to add richness and colour. The postlude has been structured around the well known Easter hymn “Jesus Christ is Risen Today”, though the melody is reimagined with shifts in key and tonality, offering both familiarity and freshness. The work culminates in a cinematic coda, expanding the hymn into a moment of joyful proclamation, enhanced by the majestic voice of the trumpet.
