Five Grungers for Brass (Quintet)

“What is a Grunger?” The meaning is obscure, and since the Grungers were written over four decades ago, a definitive answer may not be possible. There may have been a link with Percy Grainger's work “The Warriors”, so it may have been a passing phase of admiration for his work, resulting in giving a small tweak to his name. 

This work consists of five contrasting movements:

• Fanfare
• Valse Melancolique
• Scherzo
• Offertory
• Walking
