For Zhongruan (optional Mandolin) and String Quartet, in two movements, c.8'15.  

Allegro. On the grassy plains of Central Asia, the bright sun shines on galloping horses and the daytime bustle of a nomadic life. Beside the yurts, goats and cattle graze peacefully. c.3'45

Adagio. As the sun goes down, the smells of cooking waft over the camp. Nomads gather around the fire to watch the sunset, preparing for an evening of peace and serenity. c.4'30
