There are two subjects that the music exhibits, then develops and recapitulates, both contrasting each other by their relative major/minor parallel, inversion of arcs and ultimately, the different ways they resolve tensions and climaxes. Music’s Soliloquy is the result of that challenge, allowing a succinct exploration of each subject’s treatment across the three sections, creating a virtuosic, lyrical, and highly expressive experience.
