This piece begins with the left hand playing a light, non legato accompaniment on the down beats set against a lightly syncopated and jazzy flow of notes in the right hand.
 or pedagogical use, it is an effective piece for developing keyboard agility, improving rhythmic exactitude and managing the textural and rhythmic changes when the more syncopated repeated and slowing riffs appear in the contrasting sections. These sections hint fleetingly at a blend of a minor and modal tonalities. It is a piece filled with a jazzy joy and energy, a very personal sonic projection of the serenely beautiful Sydney beach.
