Syrtos

Syrtos is written for a String Orchestra and consists of one movement. The origin of this traditional Greek dance is from ancient Greece. Each region, particularly the islands, all have their own versions of the dance. For this piece a Greek composer Nikos Skalkotas who has written Thirty-Six Greek Dances influenced the composer.
