Valse parisienne

This piece was inspired by a nostalgic waltz style of popular French music often heard in the streets of Paris and in French romantic movies, as played by accordionists and violinists. It is in ternary form. The A section uses a descending chromatic bassline to accompany a plaintive lyrical tune; and, in the B section, a sequential melodic pattern is composed over a circle-of-fifths chord progression.
