Violin and piano, c.4'00.  Advanced grade (8th)

“Purim is a Jewish holiday which commemorates the saving of the Jewish people from Haman, an official of the Achaemenid Empire who was planning to have all of Persia's Jewish subjects killed, as recounted in the Book of Esther. Haman was the royal vizier to Persian king Ahasuerus.” The festival is obviously of great significance and Phillips has written this one movement work for violin and piano and a trio for violin, cello and piano related to the same Jewish theme.
